SCRUBS: A COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

The clothes worn by doctors while performing surgeries or their routine duties in hospitals are referred to as Scrubs. In the United Kingdom people usually refer to scrubs as Theatre blues. Hospitals and health clinics in today's world strongly promote a single standard dress code. Scrubs include trousers, gowns, shirts, coats, jackets, socks, shoes, caps and even stethoscopes and other medical equipment.

The purpose of this article is to show how Cheap Nursing Scrubs are better and more cost effective as compared to general clothing. Scrubs are generally made of either cotton, polyester or cotton polyester material. Cotton is cheap, polyester is cheaper and the combination i.e. cotton-polyester combination is the cheapest. Cotton is soft and comfortable. It has good color retention so it is mostly used in making printed or colored scrub tops, pants, shirts etc. Cotton is good at absorbing sweat and bad odor. It is strong and durable and does not wear out easily. It can sustain multiple washings. However there are a few things that need to be kept in mind while using cotton material. The washing machine needs to be set at minimal setting. Wash the garment in cold water and set the heat to low while ironing. Bleach is highly UN recommended for cotton material.

Now let's talk about cotton polyester blend material. This is usually the cheapest form of scrub materials. Majority of the Cheap Scrub Sets are made of cotton polyester blend material. This form of scrub material is the most cost effective and the most reliable since it can be ironed at medium temperatures or higher. It can be dyed in a wide range of colors. Unlike pure cotton, it does not shrink and is resistant to creasing. Cotton polyester material needs to be machine washed with warm water. The garment can be bleached but only non-chlorine can be used to bleach the garment. Tumble dry it with medium setting.

There is another material called rayon which is greatly used in the manufacture of scrub uniforms. Rayon is mostly used by blending it with polyester material. It is made of wood pulp which is a renewable resource. It is smooth, comfortable, soft and can be blended in a wide range of colors and prints. It can be used to make a variety of printed tops, coats and trousers. The feel of a rayon polyester blend material is that of silk which is extremely comfortable. Silk is a comparatively expensive material. The advantage of rayon polyester blend is that it gives a silky feel at a cheaper cost. Things to be kept in mind while using this material are that the garments should be washed in cold water using a very gentle detergent. Bleaching is highly non recommended. Shake the garment out lightly and lay flat over a drying rack or hang on a padded hanger to maintain the shape of the garment. Iron the material inside out to avoid shining, using a low heat setting.

Hence we arrive to the conclusion that the best and most cost effective type of scrub garments are those made of cotton polyester material since they are cheap, easy to maintain and give a nice and neat look.
